So I contacted Slee to see if they are able to transplant the 1UZ-FE V8 with 276 hp and 315 ftlbs with 5 speed auto into an 80 series (stock power 212 hp, 275 ft-lbs 4.5 I6 4speed auto) and yes...they do.

Kinja'd!!!

For ~$25,000!

Well, looks like its back to super/turbocharging for me.

Jeebus, why is it so expensive? There should be kits around for way less if you do it yourself.

I love how they retain the stock air cleaner box.

Wow. Who on earth would pay that much? I would just get a 100 Series and do a solid axle swap before I put down that kind of money on engine swapping an 80...

Just have the 1Fz rebuilt and bored over .40, you'll be at those hp/tq numbers and for only about $4k.

Why on earth would it be that much? I just can't see that much money for a general engine swap. Would they be doing a lot of reinforcement/fabrication to shore up the chassis and paint it all back to factory?
